The Hurricanes produced a strong second half performance to seal a 35-16 win over the Brumbies running in 20 unanswered points in the second half in their Super Rugby quarterfinal in Canberra last night.

The Hurricanes will now head into next week's semifinal against either the Lions or Sharks wanting to prove they're better than last night's showing.

The Hurricanes trailed 16 15 at halftime, after conceding soft tries to James Dargaville and Josh Mann Rea.

It was all the Hurricanes in the second half as they dominated possession and territory.

The defending champions tries were scored by Wes Goosen, Jordie Barrett and TJ Perenara.

Dane Coles who was making a comeback after four months out of rugby showed no signs of rust as he set up a try in the second half.

Meanwhile in other quarterfinals, the Crusaders will host the Highlanders at 7.35pm tonight, the Lions will take on the Sharks at 12.30am tomorrow while the Stormers will host the Chiefs at 3am tomorrow.
