Hurricanes CEO Avan Lee to step down after 10 years

Hurricanes Chief Executive Officer Avan Lee is stepping down after more than a decade leading the Super Rugby club.

Lee, who became CEO in June 2015, confirmed his resignation on Monday, saying that recent changes at board level, combined with major projects underway across the organisation, signalled the right moment for new leadership to take the reins.

Stuff.com reports that Lee has overseen one of the most significant periods in the Hurricanes history, including guiding the team to its first and only Super Rugby title in 2016.
