Jarryd Hayne says he is relishing a showdown against fellow Dally M medallist Johnathan Thurston as the Titans prepare for a season‑defining showdown against the NRL premiers.
Hayne paid tribute to Thurston, the man with whom he shared the Dally M medal Award in 2014 before his defection to NFL – as “one of the best ever” and is looking forward to their clash.
The Gold Coast need to beat Thurston’s North Queensland Cowboys to ensure they make the finals after losing a thriller to Penrith.
And while positionally, Thurston and Hayne will not go head‑to‑head, both men are paying each other plenty of respect.
The Titans will face the Cowboys at 7.30pm Saturday while the Storm will face the Sharks at 9.30pm.
Tomorrow the Broncos will host the Roosters at 9.50pm.
