The Fiji Pearls lost 72-31 to the South Africa Proteas in the Digicel Punjas International Netball Series.
The Fiji pearls came out of the blocks strong with dynamic off the ball running and short sharp passing, with debutant Goal Attack Maliana Rusivakula showing no signs of nerves and was the star player for the Pearls.
However the South Africa Proteas were head and shoulders above the Fiji Pearls as they were absolutely clinical in taking advantage of any errors the Pearls made with clinical finishing from Goal Shooter Lenzie Potgieter and rapid transitional passing picking apart the Pearls defence.
The first quarter ended 18-9 and after this the Proteas took the game and ran away with it scoring 30 points in the 2nd quarter alone and surpassing their highest score in a game before the end of the 3rd quarter.
The 4th quarter was the same with South Africa never taking their foot off the gas.
The final score ended South Africa Proteas 72 Fiji Pearls 31.
Fiji Pearls face South Africa Proteas again on Friday 8th at 6:30 pm.
