The Rooster Chicken Fijiana 15’s team have finished 9th in their maiden Women’s Rugby World Cup after coming in as a 21st ranked team in the tournament last month.

They lost two games against number one ranked England and 4th placed France. Fijiana managed to secure their first World Cup win against South Africa and finished third in their pool with four points.

Fiji Rugby Chairman Commodore Humphrey Tawake says the Fijiana’s participation at the world cup has ended with a lot of learnings and potential for the future growth of Women's rugby in Fiji.

Tawake acknowledged the work by the Head Coach Senirusi Seruvakula, coaching staff, management, and the team for a great outing at their first world cup.

The Fijiana 15’s team arrives in the country today and will be hosted at a reception organized by the FRU.
