England is set to drop opener Jason Roy for their Champions Trophy semi‑final against Pakistan in Cardiff tonight.
26-year-old Roy has made only 51 runs in his past eight one‑day internationals.
Captain Eoin Morgan says England cannot name their team until the day of the match for anti‑corruption reasons but Jonny Bairstow would be a capable replacement for Roy.
Bairstow has made three half‑centuries in four one‑day innings for England this year.
Meanwhile, England plays Pakistan in the first semifinal at 9.30 tonight while India will face Bangladesh at 9.30pm tomorrow.
