It’s a terrible result and I take full responsibility for it.

Those were the words of Wallabies’ Head coach Eddie Jones after the Wallabies’ disastrous 38-7 loss to the All Blacks at the MCG last night.

Jones says his side just “ran of gas” towards the end of the match and the players were “struggling” to keep up with the All Blacks.

But he wasn’t pinning the blame on his players.

He says in his experience with teams is that sometimes when you’re trying to play a different way, you can do it for periods at a time and then you can’t do it anymore.

Jones says they had the All Blacks under a fair bit of pressure for a long period in the second half but again, they got no points out of it.

The All Blacks have piled more misery onto Eddie Jones’ Wallabies, and ensured the stability of the New Zealand economy, by retaining the Bledisloe Cup for another year.

But, when asked about why he was taking responsibility for the loss, Jones says someone has got to take responsibility for the loss and it’s the head coach that takes responsibility for it.

The Wallabies will now head to Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin, Otago for their second Bledisloe Cup clash against the All Blacks next Saturday at 2.35pm
