District soccer coaches are not monitoring their players - Gamel

Vodafone Fiji Soccer Coach Christophe Gamel says district soccer coaches are not monitoring their players.

Gamel says when players go back from National camp, district coaches do not bother to monitor the players.

He says there may be only one or two district coaches who monitor the players and follow the philosophy of the football but there are some districts who start doing their own.

Gamel says the players do not follow the proper program and process.

He says most players come overweight to National camp.

He has also raised concerns that some clubs still play kick and chase football.

The no‑nonsense coach says they would form a group of qualified coaches to monitor and assist the clubs and districts.

Meanwhile, the Courts IDC will kick off on the 10th of next month at Churchill Park where Rewa will face Dreketi, Nadi will play Tavua, Labasa will take on Ba and Lautoka will face Suva.

You can catch the live commentaries of the Nadi-Tavua, Ba-Labasa and Lautoka-Suva matches on our sister station, Radio Sargam.
