Crusaders crush Melbourne Rebellion

Crusaders crush Melbourne Rebellion

The Rebels have become the latest Super Rugby kill for the Crusaders, falling to a 41‑19 defeat in Melbourne.

The Crusaders led 31‑7 at halftime, with Jed Brown scoring a double and Marika Koroibete crossing for the first of his two tries.

Koroibete's second try came in the 58th minute.

The Rebels continued to toil hard but mistakes and missed tackles proved costly against the competition benchmark.

All Blacks veteran winger Israel Dagg made a positive return in his first game since round three for the Crusaders with coach Scott Robertson saying they got what they wanted out of the match.

In other results, Chiefs and Blues drew 16-all, Western Force beat the Reds 40-26, Cheetahs beat the Sunwolves 47-7, Highlanders defeated the Waratahs 44-28, Hurricanes defeated the Bulls 34-20, Sharks beat the Stormers 22-10.

The Brumbies will meet the Jaguares at 9.40am while the Lions will face the Kings at 12.30am tomorrow.
