Colin Cooper has been confirmed as the new Chiefs coach from 2018.
As reported by Stuff.co on Sunday, Taranaki and Maori All Blacks coach Cooper was given the nod to take over from the departing Dave Rennie, with the Super Rugby franchise announcing his appointment on a three‑year deal.
Next year will be Rennie's sixth and final season at the Chiefs before he heads to Glasgow on a two‑year deal.
He will be a tough act to follow, after guiding the team to their maiden title in 2012, another championship the following year, and the playoffs the past three seasons.
Cooper brings a great deal of experience, and it will be his second stint in Super Rugby as a head coach, having been in charge of the Hurricanes from 2003 to 2010.
