Concerns have been raised on why the Women’s Football IDC was cancelled on the month that it was supposed to be held.
Suva Women’s Football team manager Titilia Luveni has told Fijivillage that the Fiji Football Association had confirmed that the IDC was to be played from the 25th to the 27th of this month and only the venue was to be confirmed.
She says that on the 10th of this month they were told that the IDC will not be played due to the delay caused at the beginning of the year by Cyclone Winston and the FIFA funding coming in late.
Luveni says they were looking forward to the only tournament in the women’s football calender.
She says they are appreciative of the development that takes place however when it comes to the senior level, not much is being done.
Luveni also says that they do not have a proper calender set out for the year.
She says that some players who had started with football have switched to rugby due to lack of programs at the senior level.
Fiji Football Association CEO Bob Kumar says if women’s football have some issues or grievances, they should raise it with Fiji FA.
