After confirmation to Fijivillage yesterday that Pacific sprint king Banuve Tabakaucoro will switch to rugby, his new coach believes he can go a long way.
Solomoni Donu the coach of the Silverwaters Barbarians 7s club says they are excited to have Banuve Tabakaucoro in their team after their first training session yesterday.
Donu who used to be the trainer for the Nadroga and Malolo rugby teams was picked to coach the team and has assembled a young side including eight young Nadroga players.
He says that he could see the potential in Tabakaucoro during their training session and he just needs to work on his basic skills, running lines, defence and some other important aspects of a wing.
Donu adds that Tabakaucoro has been playing rugby in some tournaments and he is not new to the game.
The Silverwaters Barbarians 7s team will travel to Adelaide for a 7s tournament on the 1st and 2nd of next month before heading to a tournament in Melbourne and the Central Coast 7s.
Meanwhile the launch of the new club will be held at 7 tonight at Suva Civic Centre.
