The Boston Celtics have extended their lead in the NBA Finals series to 3-0 after defeating the Dallas Mavericks 106-99 in game 3 today.

Celtics’ forwards Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown rose to the occasion scoring 31 and 30 points respectively to help their side clinch another close victory.

It was the third quarter that proved to be the difference which was clinched by the Celtics 35-19 after the Mavericks took out the first quarter 31-30, held the Celtics to 20-all in the second quarter and scooped the last quarter 29-21.

Mavericks’ point guard Kyrie Irving toiled hard for his side and scored 35 points in 45 minutes with 3 rebounds and 2 assists but was not enough to save his side from slipping to their 3rd consecutive defeat.

The Celtics now only need a win in game 4 to be crowned the 2024 NBA Champions but the Mavericks will be looking to make a comeback in the remainder of the series.

Game 4 of the NBA Finals will be at 12.30pm this Saturday.
