The Bureta Young Boys U21 7s side from the Old Capital in Ovalau is coming into the 49th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s not only to play but also to spread the message of saying no to drugs.

Team Manager Paula Lagilagi says with the drug crisis in our country, his team wants to come into this tournament and set an example for other youths in Ovalau that drugs are not the way to go as there are other things they can resort to, like playing rugby.

Lagilagi says they only reached the elimination round of the Marist 7s last year, and this year, they have set their goals of going one better.

He says if they are able to do this, then the message that they are trying to get across to the youths on the island of Ovalau will be boosted.

Lagilagi acknowledged those who were behind the forming of this team as it is a good way to keep the youth from committing more crimes in the village of Bureta and Ovalau as a whole.

Bureta won their first match against Sausauvou Taveuni 5-0 before being held to a 7-all draw against Aqua Pro Savuiqali.

They will take on Sireli Bobo’s FSC Grassroots Fiji U20 in their last pool match later this afternoon.

In other results from the second round of matches in the U21 grade, Marist defeated Nakavu 22-0, Cautata Eagles defeated Navesibasaga 17-5, DHL Raiwaqa beat Sydney Bula 12-5, Nabouwalu beat Ravoravo 5-0, Village Boys defeated Navakawau 19-5, Dominion Brothers defeated St John Lomary 17-0, FSC U20 beat Savali Logistic 15-0, Sausauvou Taveuni defeated Bua Babas 12-0, and Bilolevu Wainimala defeated Senikabuta Babas.
