Namosau Methodist Primary School sprinter and Ba representative Kirikiti Biu has stamped his mark in the 2024 Fiji Primary Schools Tucker’s Ice Cream Games after claiming gold in the U13 boys' 100 metres final at the HFC Bank Stadium this afternoon.
The 13-year-old expressed his gratitude to his parents, teachers and coaching staff, and says their support has helped him achieve his dream.
Biu says he has set his sights on maintaining his fitness and form and is looking forward to participating in the 2025 Coca-Cola Games.
The Year 8 student from Nayaulevu Village in Ra says he wants to join Xavier College next year or possibly other Eastern or Southern schools that may offer him opportunities to further his athletic journey.
Ba Team Manager, Meli Tuilevu told fijivillage News that Biu’s performance has boosted the morale of the team and has brought joy to parents and teachers alike.
Meanwhile, Nadi currently leads the medal tally for the boys' division with three gold, four silver, and two bronze while they also lead the girls' division with six gold, three silver, and four bronze medals.
