As a coach, I don’t want to put more pressure on the players - Jackson

Heading into this weekend’s round 9 of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific, Swire Shipping Fijian Drua coach Glen Jackson has revealed that he does not want to put more pressure on the players.

Following their 31-14 loss to the Crusaders over the weekend in Suva, Jackson says his job as a coach of a proud nation’s team, the pressure is the same as what the players are getting.

He says it is an understanding of where they are trying to get to as a club and that is obviously making the top six.

Jackson says Fiji is a rugby fanatic country and it is his role to take most of the pressure off the players and hopefully they can relieve it on the field.

The Drua fell to their 6th loss of the season over the weekend and are currently sitting at the bottom of the Super Rugby Pacific points table with 7 points.

They still have a chance to make it into the top 8 with 7 more games that they are yet to play, and it is crucial they get wins in their remaining games.

The Drua will take on the Highlanders at 7.05pm this Saturday at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin.

In other matches this weekend, the Hurricanes will play the Crusaders at 7.05pm Friday, the Waratahs will take on the Chiefs at 9.35pm Friday, the Blues will host Moana Pasifika at 4.35pm Saturday, and the Reds will play the Brumbies at 9.35pm Saturday.
