ALL Blacks legend Sean Fitzpatrick thinks Hurricanes full back Jordie Barrett is the best player in New Zealand, as the 20‑year‑old prepares to make his full debut for Saturday’s series decider against the British and Irish Lions.
Barrett joins Ngani Laumape in being selected for a first start for New Zealand, while Julian Savea also returns to the side to face Warren Gatland’s Lions.
Gatland has kept faith with the team that sealed a dramatic 24‑21 victory on last Saturday to end the All Black’s 46‑Test unbeaten home record.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Fitzpatrick praised New Zealand head coach Steve Hansen’s team selection and highlighted the inclusion of Barrett, while also revealing there have been some “punch‑ups” at training as the intensity continues to build.
The All Blacks will face the British & Irish Lions at 7.35pm tomorrow.
