It was a special moment for Swire Shipping Fijian Drua halfback Frank Lomani when he ran out onto the field yesterday for his 50th Super Rugby match carrying his son with him.

The Savusavu man says his son lives in Labasa now and to have him attending Lomani’s 50th match was a memorable moment and he thanked everyone who organised the travel for his son.

He says also having his family from Savusavu over to watch him play really boosted his morale on the field and helped him perform to the best of his ability.

The 27-year-old says it really was special and he was more excited about playing against the Force than celebrating his 50th Super Rugby match.

He says getting the win was an icing on the cake and he acknowledged the hard work put in by his teammates on and off the field.

Lomani started at halfback yesterday and played a crucial role in their 31-13 win over the Force, marshalling his forwards and organising the backline well.

He also assisted in the Drua’s second try by Selestino Ravutaumada and also earned him the man of the match award.

Lomani and the Drua will now turn their focus to their next match against the Rebels in Melbourne next week.

The Drua will play the Rebels at 8.35pm Friday.
