The Hurricanes midfield pair of Ngani Laumape and Vince Aso are tantalizingly close to breaking the long‑time season tryscoring record of Rico Gear and Joe Roff.
Laumape and Aso have 14 tries each to their names and are one short of eqauling the record of 15 tries in a season.
In their 34-12 win over the force over the weekend Laumape scored a double while Aso scored one try.
They may get the chance to equal or break the record in their game against the Chiefs this weekend.
The Hurricanes will play the Chiefs at 7.35pm this Friday.
