After a bonus-point win over the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua at home last week, the Blues have turned their focus on to the Highlanders in their Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific Super Round match this weekend.

Blues coach Vern Cotter says there is a lot to work on improving after that win in round 1 and that is especially when they are playing the Highlanders.

Cotter says the Highlanders is a very improved team and the Blues have got a six-day turnaround, so they have to take that into account.

He says they had a good start against the Drua and there was content from the game they would go over and amend some aspects for the future.

He adds they didn't quite get the rhythm right against the Drua so they will need to be faster against the Highlanders this week.

Blues captain and flanker Dalton Papali'i says he was happy with how they performed against the Drua but was never content.

He says they always want to improve and they will work on that this week.

The Blues will take on the Highlanders at 7pm Friday in Melbourne.

In other matches this weekend, the Rebels will play the Force at 9.10pm Friday, the Fijian Drua will take on Moana Pasifika at 6pm Saturday, the Crusaders will play the Waratahs at 8.35pm Saturday, the Chiefs will play the Brumbies at 3pm Sunday, and the Hurricanes will play the Reds at 5.30pm Sunday.
