The Newcastle Knights will march on to week two of the finals after a convincing 20-10 win over the Rabbitohs at Allianz Stadium last night.
A double to Jermaine McEwen and 285 run metres from Kalyn Ponga laid the platform for the Knights’ first finals victory away from home since 2013.
The loss of Cody Walker to a calf injury in the first half left the Bunnies short of ideas in attack, while Jayden Sullivan couldn’t get his kicking game in order in the second half.
The Newcastle Knights will march on to week two, where they will face the loser of the Warriors-Dolphins clash.
In today’s matches, the Warriors will face the Dolphins at 6.05pm, while the Sharks will meet the Cowboys at 9.50pm.
