The Junior Bula Boys will take on New Zealand in the final of the OFC U-16 Men's Championship this Saturday after both teams secured impressive semi-final victories and qualified for the 2027 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Fiji booked their place in the final after defeating the Solomon Islands 4-2 in a dramatic penalty shootout following a goalless semi-final while New Zealand secured their place in the final with a convincing 3-0 win over hosts Papua New Guinea in the second semi-final.
Captain Jone Loga who was also named player of the match expresses his gratitude to God for the achievement and described qualifying for the FIFA U-17 World Cup as a dream come true.
Cruz Pietersen of New Zealand was named Player of the Match.
The OFC U-16 Men's Championship final between Fiji and New Zealand will be played at 9.30pm Saturday at PNG Football Stadium in Port Moresby.
