Football fans can look forward to another exciting battle between Fiji’s top districts, with the pools for the FMF Inter District Championship 2026 officially drawn today at the Fiji Football Association headquarters in Suva.
In the Super Premier Division, Labasa FC features in Pool A with Rewa FC, Suva FC and Nasinu FC, while Extra Battle of the Giants champion Ba FC leads Pool B with Lautoka FC, Navua FC and Nadi FC.
In the Premier Division, Pool A consists of Nadroga, Seaqaqa and Kiribati, while Pool B includes Tailevu/Naitasiri, Tavua and the Fiji Under-17 side.
In the Senior Division, Pool A comprises Lami FC, Northland Tailevu, Bua FC and Dreketi FC, while Pool B features Rakiraki, Savusavu, Nadroga and Taveuni.
FMF Group Compliance Manager Aralai Tinai says the IDC is more than just a football tournament, describing it as a celebration of talent, passion, teamwork and unity.
Tinai says FMF is proud to once again sponsor the IDC and has encouraged fans across Fiji to turn out in numbers, support their teams and enjoy the spirit of the competition.
Fiji Football Association CEO Mohammed Yusuf says the association is expecting a highly competitive tournament, with strong rivalry among the country’s top districts.
Yusuf says last year’s IDC at Govind Park in Ba attracted more than 45,000 spectators over five days, with 14,300 fans attending the final day.
He says Fiji FA is grateful to FMF and Managing Director Sanjay Punja for their continued support of football, with the current partnership running for five years.
Yusuf says this year’s tournament will also make history, with the Kiribati national team invited to participate in the Premier competition for the first time in the history of the IDC.
The tournament will feature three levels of competition Super Premier, Premier and Senior.
Yusuf says the Fiji Under-17 team, which is preparing for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Qatar, will also compete in the Premier division to give the young players valuable exposure to a high level of competition.
Fiji FA will also introduce an IDC torch relay ahead of the tournament, with the torch travelling through various towns and districts before reaching Suva.
Yusuf says the relay will give fans an opportunity to meet players, take photographs and see the FMF-branded IDC jerseys ahead of the competition.
Fans are being urged to turn out in numbers to support their teams.
The FMF IDC 2026 will be held from 6th to 11th October at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
