Digicel Fiji CEO Farid Mohammed to step down after 20 years with Digicel Pacific
Digicel Fiji's Chief Executive Officer, Farid Mohammed, has announced he will depart the company and relocate overseas with his family.

Digicel Fiji says this marks the conclusion of a remarkable 20-year career with Digicel Pacific, during which Mohammed made a significant contribution to the organisation and the communities it serves.

Mohammed joined Digicel Pacific on 4th August 2006 and has served in several key leadership roles, including Business Analyst, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive Officer.

He has directly contributed across four Digicel Pacific markets, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Tonga and Samoa, and became the first local appointed CEO of Digicel Fiji.

Digicel Fiji says during his six-year tenure as CEO of Digicel Fiji, Mohammed led major technology upgrades, network modernisation programmes and business transformation initiatives that strengthened the company's operations and positioned the business for future growth.

They say under his leadership, Digicel Fiji achieved several milestones, including significantly boosting its subscriber base through the successful "All In" campaign.

Digicel Fiji says Mohammed also guided the company through major national and regional challenges, most notably the devastation caused by Cyclone Winston and the global COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring customers remained connected during critical moments.

Reflecting on his journey, Mohammed says Digicel Pacific has been his home for 20 year and he is deeply grateful to the people, the customers, their partners and Board for their trust and support.

He says while he is stepping away from his role, Digicel Pacific will always remain a part of who he is.

Digicel Pacific Regional Hub Markets CEO Steve Long says they celebrate and show their gratitude to Mohammed for the enormous contribution he has made to Digicel Pacific, the people and their customers.

He says Mohammed's leadership and commitment have left a lasting impact on Digicel Fiji and the wider Pacific.

Long has thanked Mohammed for his exceptional service and has wished him and his family every success in their next chapter.

Digicel Fiji says Steve Long will directly oversee the Digicel Fiji business until a permanent appointment is made.
