Josaia Raisuqe and Waisea Nayacalevu have both received suspended prison sentences in the trial relating to their alleged assault and sexual assault on July 22nd this year.
The two Fiji born rugby players were celebrating Josaia Raisuqe 23rd birthday and witnesses reported that they were drunk.
A man and two young women filed two complaints against them with charges of violence in a state of intoxication concerning both players, and the second for sexual assault.
The incident took place on the 22nd July this year in front of a nightclub in Paris.
Both players were arrested last July after an altercation in the 13th district of Paris they were trialled for drunken violence.
The prosecution has asked for 6 months of suspended sentence for 27-year-old Waisea Nayacalevu, who had been kept by his club, Stade Français after the case; and 12 months suspended ‑ with an obligation to compensate the victims for 23-year-old Josaia Raisuqe, who was also being prosecuted for sexual assault and has been dismissed from Stade Francais, he now plays for Nevers in Pro D2.
The final judgment will be passed on January 30th, 2018.
