Bai calls on World Rugby Organization to be fair

Vodafone Flying Fijians second five eighth Seremaia Bai has called on the World Rugby Organization to be fair.

Bai has added to the discontent surrounding the Samoan players by claiming the international rugby calendar will leave them under prepared to face England in next year’s World Cup.

Fiji have been drawn to play in the opening match of the 2015 World Cup against England at Twickenham next September in a tournament predicted by the organizers to generate almost 1 billion pounds for the UK economy.

The Flying Fijians lit up the 2007 Rugby World Cup with unforgettable performances against Wales and South Africa but they will meet none of the top 10 Tier One unions in the 10 months remaining before the Rugby World Cup next year.

Speaking to the Independent news in Europe, Bai said Fiji will never reach its full potential if the fixtures do not improve.

Bai said Fiji could have picked up from where they left off in 2007 if they were given the support they needed and they could have been much better in 2011.

When comparing the gap between tier one rugby nations and developing rugby countries, Bai said he is the second longest serving player to have represented Fiji and he has played 57 tests in 14 years since 2000.

When compared to his Leicester teammate and former All Black lock Brad Thorn, he has played 47 tests for New Zealand in just three years from 2008 to 2011.
