Levuka Public School created a major upset in the Under-19 grade of the Crest Chicken Secondary School Netball Finals, defeating St Joseph's Secondary School 20-10.
It was a tough match, with Levuka Public School taking the lead in the first quarter and maintaining its advantage throughout the game.
The girls from St Joseph's Secondary School fought hard but could not overcome the Old Capital side.
Levuka Public Under-19 captain Ioana Gaunavinaka says the team's preparation for the competition required sacrifice and commitment.
The Year 13 student says it was her first time captaining the team, and taking on the role was challenging.
She says the challenging part was communicating with the players and ensuring everyone was treated equally.
Gaunavinaka says she was excited that the team secured the win after losing their previous two matches.
She thanked her teammates for their commitment and hard work.
In other results, Baulevu Secondary School defeated Vatukoula Secondary School 9-6 in the Under-14 girls' grade.
Central College Lautoka's Open girls' side drew 11-all with Saint Francis College, while Bhawani Dayal Arya College's Open boys' side defeated Kalabu Secondary School 15-6.
The Netball Finals are underway at the Jai Narayan School Ground.
