Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica says he is consulting his lawyers over possible legal options following his successful no-case-to-answer application in the case brought against him by FICAC.
Kamikamica was charged with perjury and giving false information to a public servant.
He was acquitted after the court upheld his no-case-to-answer application.
When questioned by fijivillage News whether he had received any communication from FICAC about a possible appeal, Kamikamica said he had not.
While responding to whether he would consider filing a civil case against former Commission of Inquiry Chair Justice David Ashton-Lewis over remarks such as “crocodile in the pond,” which caused reputational damage and led to the loss of his Cabinet position, Kamikamica says he is discussing the matter with his lawyers.
However, he says right now is the time to settle back into work, so that will be the priority and then they will look at other legal options.
Kamikamica also confirmed that his phone, which had been confiscated during the investigation, was returned to him yesterday.
