Young people on Cobia Island are expected to benefit from new opportunities in sports and small business activities after the Cobia Island Youth Club received items worth around $5,000.
The assistance includes tents and various sporting equipment, which the club says will help boost youth participation in sports and provide ways to generate income.
Club spokesperson Josaia Cagituevei says the youths are grateful for the support and receiving the items is a proud and happy moment for them.
Cagituevei says the tents can be hired out for community and other functions, providing an opportunity for the youth club to generate income.
He says the sporting equipment will also encourage more young people to participate in sports.
He has thanked the Government for its support towards the youths and the Cobia Island community.
