Extra Bula FC is strengthening its defence for the 2027 OFC Pro League season with the return of Scott Wara, one of the club's key defenders during its inaugural campaign.

Wara is the second Bula Warrior confirmed by the club for the 2027 season following his successful stint in Australia.

Following the conclusion of the Australian season, he returned to Fiji and joined Rewa FC for the 2026 FMF Inter-District Championship.

Bula FC says Wara played an important role in helping the club finish third in the regular season and qualify for the Top Four playoffs during its inaugural season.

They say he was also part of the Fiji national team that won the MSG Prime Minister's Cup two weeks ago, adding another international achievement to his football career.

Wara played an important role in Fiji's successful campaign, including scoring a crucial goal in the team's 2–1 comeback victory over New Caledonia.

Wara says he believes in what Bula FC is building and wants to be part of the club's continued growth.

He says he has enjoyed being home and truly believes the project will grow even more.

He says Bula FC's third-place finish last season was amazing, and he wants to build further on that achievement and hopefully win the competition this year.

His return strengthens Bula FC's defensive line as the club looks to build on its inaugural season and challenge for the championship in 2027.

The club says that following the 2026 season, Wara joined Maitland FC in Australia's National Premier Leagues Northern NSW competition, where he established himself as an important member of the team's defence.

They say his Australian campaign included a memorable header against Fremantle City in the national Round of 32 of the Australia Cup, giving Maitland an early 1–0 lead.

They say he also helped the club reach the NPL Northern NSW Grand Final in September, where they finished runners-up.

Reflecting on his time in Australia, Wara says it was a valuable experience.

He says Australia was a good experience, as he wanted to stay on this side of the world and was fortunate that an opportunity in Australia came up.

Wara says he was able to do well there, and the team also won the State Cup, although they lost the Grand Final.
