One of the four children who was hit by a vehicle in Tacirua earlier this month remains admitted to hospital, while the other three are recovering at their home in Savutalele Settlement in Tacirua.
The family is seeking justice and wants Police to take the matter seriously.
A video of the incident was widely shared on social media, showing a four-wheel-drive vehicle hitting the children as they were walking along the roadside before leaving the scene.
fijivillage News visited the family today, where the children's aunt, Tiare Ofati, showed us the condition of the three children recovering at home.
She says the family is particularly concerned about possible internal injuries as the children continue to recover at home.
Seven-year-old Anna Tepaitaia, a student of Tacirua Primary School, had visible injuries and scars on her leg and around her ribs, while her four-year-old brother also had visible scars on the side of his ribs.
The third child, Charles Ofati, suffered a fractured hand, while the fourth child, Ata Itaia, remains admitted at CWM Children's Hospital.
The aunt says the children were assessed at hospital, but the family was not informed of any internal injuries.
However, she says the children sometimes complain of stomach aches, which continues to concern the family.
The children's aunt says the family has not received any update from Police regarding the driver, who allegedly did not stop after the incident and fled the scene.
She adds that the four children could have lost their lives and is calling for the driver to be held accountable if found responsible.
fijivillage News has sent questions to Police seeking an update on the investigation but is yet to receive a response.
