With Rewa FC set to fly Fiji's flag in the OFC Men's Champions League from this Sunday, Ba Football Association President Praneel Dayal is urging football fans to put club rivalries aside and unite behind the Delta Tigers as they chase Oceania's biggest club title.
Dayal extends his best wishes to Rewa FC President Nazeel Buksh, the club's management, coaching staff and players, acknowledging the commitment and hard work required to build a team capable of competing against Oceania's best.
He says reaching the OFC Men's Champions League was a significant achievement that reflected the vision, dedication and leadership shown by the club's administration.
Dayal also notes that while Rewa will play its opening pool match in Lautoka, Ba will proudly host the club for the remaining group stage matches and looked forward to welcoming the team and supporters.
He calls on Ba FC supporters to set aside traditional domestic rivalries during the tournament and get behind Rewa as Fiji's sole representative, saying the team would be carrying the hopes of the nation.
Dayal encourages fans to fill the stands, give Rewa a warm welcome and showcase Fiji's passion for football to the rest of Oceania.
He also wishes the team success in its campaign and expressed hope that Rewa would make the country proud by bringing the OFC Men's Champions League title home.
Meanwhile, Rewa FC will take on Vanuatu's Galaxy FC at 3pm this Sunday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
