Faga, who is of Hawaiian and Rotuman descent and is currently serving in Nasinu, says one of his favourite childhood memories was taking family road trips and photos with his mother.
He says a photo they took together at Bryce Canyon now reminds him of everything she has done for him.
He says being away from home for nine months has helped him better understand the importance of family and appreciate his mother’s sacrifices even more. The missionary says his mother always supported him through school, sports and important life decisions, and taught him how to show love and kindness to others.

Faga recalls a time when he became seriously ill at the age of 12 and says his mother constantly cared for him by preparing meals, helping him recover and showing him unconditional love.
He says those experiences shaped the person he is today and helped him develop a deep love for the people of Fiji.
Faga says because his father is from Fiji, he has been able to meet relatives during his mission, and the warmth shown by local families reminds him of home.
He says the kindness shown by people across Fiji reflects the same love his own mother showed him growing up.

Speaking about his missionary work, Faga says missionaries help teach the gospel of Jesus Christ and encourage people to come closer to God and receive blessings through faith and service.
He admits that before leaving home, he was afraid of serving a mission and struggled spiritually at times.
However, he says his mother encouraged him to trust God and reminded him that their family would be blessed while he carried out missionary work.

Faga says her advice gave him confidence and reassurance during one of the biggest decisions of his life.
The missionary also thanked families in Fiji, especially the Tabisa family, for welcoming and caring for him during his time in the country.
He says their generosity and kindness made him feel like part of the family.

Faga is also encouraging young people to appreciate their parents more and listen to their guidance.
He says parents sacrifice so much for their children and their love should never be taken for granted.

Faga also urged young people to strengthen their relationship with God and prepare themselves spiritually for the future.

He ended by thanking his parents for raising him in the church and helping him become the person he is today.
Faga says despite the challenges and disagreements families may face, there should always be room for love.
