Tropical Cyclone Urmil exits Fiji area, heavy rain warning remains in force

Category 2 Tropical Cyclone Urmil has exited Fiji's waters and is currently in New Zealand waters.

This was confirmed by the Nadi Weather Office, who says that the weather conditions affecting Fiji are now mainly due to an active trough of low pressure associated with the cyclone.

They add that heavy rain is expected to ease by Wednesday, while strong winds are likely to ease tomorrow.

However, a heavy rain warning remains in force for Fiji.

Residents are advised to stay vigilant as onditions may continue to affect low-lying and flood-prone areas.
