Suva Zone 2: 800 metres medals spread out through all schools

Suva Grammar School dominated the 800 metres events in the Coca-Cola Suva Zone 2 Competition.


Saula Koroi won gold for Grammar in the Senior Boys 800 metres event, Lomary Secondary School's Iowane Laselevu took the silver medal and Dennis Joy, also from Grammar, settled for the bronze medal.

Grammar's Biu Lani Vakayadra won gold in the Senior Girls 800 metres, beating Nuku Secondary School's Mereula Tuidrodro, who settled for silver, while Miriama Lewamoqe of Ratu Latianara took the bronze.

Lomary's Rusiate Balenagasau continued with his winning form from yesterday, bagging another gold in the Intermediate Boys 800 metres.


Jesoni Ramasoli of Grammar won silver, while Asesela Saumaki, also from Grammar, won bronze.

In the Intermediate Girls, Grammar had a clean sweep with Elenoa Ratusaki taking the gold, Asena Koroi, the silver, and Faith Bulai with bronze.

In the Junior Girls, Adi Losalini of Lomary won gold, with Keasi Radinibou of Ratu Latianara College winning silver, while Nuku student Devale Duavarua took the bronze.

The Junior Boys 800 metres was won by Varasiko Nacuva of Nuku Secondary, Adray Prasad of Jai Narayan College took the silver, while Olaf Allen of Marist won the bronze.

Marist had a clean sweep in the Sub-Junior Boys 800 metres, with Sakaraia Raiqavi winning gold, Lawrence Nawaqanibau taking silver, while Sakiusa Vunivesilevu settled for bronze. 

In the Sub-Junior Girls 800 metres, Makitalena Biau of Ratu Latianara College won gold, Alevina Navuka secured the silver, while Ro Maria Rinakama of Gospel High School took the bronze.
