Suva Muslim College have ended a 25-year wait for the Suva Secondary Schools Soccer Association Under-19 title after beating DAV College 1-0 in the final.
The closely contested encounter remained scoreless after 60 minutes of regulation time, with both teams unable to find the breakthrough.
Sakuisa Abia scored in the seventh minute of the second period of extra time to seal a 1-0 victory for Suva Muslim College.
DAV College fought hard throughout the match and created several chances but were unable to find an equaliser.
Suva Muslim College says the title reflects the players' determination, discipline and teamwork, along with the unwavering support of the coaches, managers, staff, supporters and the wider school community.
The Suva Secondary Schools Soccer Association has also congratulated all teams that have qualified for the Fiji Secondary Schools Football Association Inter-District Championship in Labasa and wished them success as they represent the Suva zone.
