Fijiana 7s outclassed by Australia 35-7 in Singapore 7s opener

The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s were outclassed by Cape Town 7s champions Australia, going down 35-7 in their opening match at the HSBC SVNS Singapore 7s.

Australia ran in five tries through Maddison Levi, Teagan Levi, Madison Ashby, Kaitlin Shave and Faith Nathan, while Fiji’s only try came from Reapi Ulunisau.

Australia dominated throughout the match and did not give the Fijian girls any chance to run their game plan.

The Fijiana 7s’ next match is against the USA at 6.30 tonight, before they face Japan at 9.56 tonight in their final pool match.

The women’s semi-finals will take place at 5.08pm tomorrow, with the final scheduled for 11.05pm.

In other results, Canada stunned France 29-24, New Zealand demolished Great Britain 64-0, and the USA edged Japan 22-19.
