Rewa defender Delon Shankar has been cleared to play in the FMF Inter-District Championship after the Fiji Football Association Board decided to place him on a one-year good behaviour bond.
Fiji Football Association says the decision was made following consultations with coaches, and Rewa has been informed.
However, Shankar has suffered setbacks in his pursuit of professional football opportunities.
His nomination for a placement with the Oceania Football Confederation in Auckland has been withdrawn, while his offer from Bula FC has also been withdrawn.
Fiji FA says the Bula FC coach will decide at a later stage whether Shankar will be given a second opportunity to join the club.
Fiji FA says Shankar needs to improve his behaviour and professionalism if he wants to pursue a professional football career.
It says issues such as failing to inform the relevant parties and leaving without permission need to be addressed.
Meanwhile, a decision on suspended Labasa player Melvin Mani is yet to be made.
Labasa has been asked to provide its views and any relevant documents before the Fiji FA Board decides whether Mani will be allowed to feature in the FMF IDC.
Fiji FA also thanked FMF for sponsoring the tournament and encouraged fans to attend the matches over the long weekend.
