Several roads and crossings remain flooded across the country

Several roads and crossings across the Western, Northern and Central divisions remain flooded and inaccessible following recent heavy rainfall, with authorities urging drivers to exercise extreme caution.

The Western Division has recorded extensive flooding across multiple towns including Sigatoka, Nadi, Ba, Tavua and Rakiraki.

In Ba, affected roads include Draiba Crossing, Koula Road, Babriban Crossing, Dramasi 1st Crossing on Dramasi Road, Drasa Dam Road 1st and 2nd Crossings, Lubulubu 1st Crossing, Varadoli Cemetery Crossing, Matacawa 1st Crossing, Maururu Crossing, Nacilau 1st and 2nd Crossings, Nadelei Crossing 3 on Nadelei Road, and Sarava Box Culvert Crossing.

Sarava Road, Wailailai Flats, Rukuruku Flat on Tavualevu Road and Ralulu Street are experiencing flooding, while Kings Road at the Lausa Section and Koula Road off Main Street are partially blocked by fallen trees.

In Tavua, Vitivanua Crossing on Naseyani Road, Qalela 1st Crossing on Qalela Loop Road,and Vatia 2nd Crossing on Vatia Wharf Road are flooded.

In Nadi, Sabeto Crossing, Saru Back Road Crossing, Savalau 1st, 2nd and 3rd Crossings, Vatutu 1st Culvert Crossing, Vuda Back Road Crossing, and Wailoko Road are flooded while Denarau Road is also affected by a fallen tree.

Vutuni 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Crossings, Arolevu Crossing, Chuni Lal Crossing, and Mate Crossing are also impacted.

In Rakiraki, Barotu Road, Savusavu Crossing on Dawa Lawaki Road, Narara Crossing, Katudrau Crossing, Vatumani Road at the Ilikini Road junction and Yaladro Road are flooded.

Several routes are restricted to four-wheel-drive vehicles only; these include surface flooding at Korotale Road towards FSC, sections between Tavualevu Bridge and Shop N Save, Kings Road at Yaladro Junction, Kings Road before Matawalu Village, Matawalu Road, Tavualevu Village area sections, Drana Crossing on Korotale Road and Korotale Road (FSC), while Waimari Road is restricted to single-lane access.

Additional affected sites include Namosau Bridge, Draiba Bridge, Veisaru 1st Bridge, Katudrau Crossing, Keloaiya 1st Crossing, Navilawa 3rd Crossing, Yaladro Road in Tavua, Mataniwai Flat on Mataniwai Road (Tavua), Nabuna Flat on Nabuna Village Road and Balata Flat on Nadarivatu Road.

In the Northern Division, several crossings in Labasa and surrounding areas are underwater; these include Vuakana Crossing on Coqeloa Road, Lalakoro Crossing 2, Qelemumu Crossing on Coqeloa Road, Nayagalevu Crossing on Nayarabale Road and Vunivere Crossing on Lalakoro Road.

Nasarava Crossing on Nasarava Road, Zailav Crossing, Nakama Crossing on Naduna Road, Naqumu Crossing, Urata Crossing on Urata Road, and Vaturamulo Crossing on Nabunicibi Road in Savusavu are also flooded.

Coqeloa FSC 3 Bridge on Coqeloa Temple Road and Nasekula Back Road remain inaccessible, while Nagigi Flat on Wainikoro Road, Nakelikoso Road, Vunivutu Road and Naleba Flat on Wainikoro Road are restricted to four-wheel-drive vehicles only. Lagalaga Road is also affected.

In the Central Division, Waima Crossing on Nairukuruku Road, Waiwatu Crossing on Navulokani Road, Waisa Crossing and Vatulili Crossing remain flooded while Naitonitoni Road is also affected due to a fallen EFL pole.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation and are advising all drivers and road users to avoid flooded crossings and exercise caution while travelling, as water levels may rise again if heavy rain persists.
