Maharaj on bail, Ratu Meli remains missing as court sets drug trial date for 8th December
Ratu Meli Buarua, who is charged alongside Zoe Maharaj Moore with the alleged possession of drugs and property suspected to be proceeds of crime, remains missing after failing to appear in court again this morning.

Moore appeared before Suva Magistrate Yogesh Prasad.

Magistrate Prasad told the prosecution to look for Ratu Meli on one of Fiji’s remote islands, saying he believed that was where Ratu Meli was hiding.

A bench warrant was also issued for Ratu Meli.

Moore and Ratu Meli are jointly charged with the unlawful possession of 0.3 grams of marijuana in Suva on March 6th last year.

Ratu Meli also faces a separate charge of possessing $1,904.50 suspected to be proceeds of crime, allegedly found in his possession in Suva on March 5th, 2025.

Bail has been extended for Maharaj.

The case has been adjourned to December 8th, when it will be called again for trial.
