Hungarian national further remanded in alleged methamphetamine importation case
The Hungarian national, who is charged with the unlawful importation and unlawful possession of illicit drugs, has been further remanded by the Lautoka High Court.

It is alleged that on 17th April this year, Fonta Laszlo unlawfully imported and possessed 4,869.7 grams of methamphetamine.

He was intercepted by authorities at Nadi International Airport, where screening of his baggage allegedly revealed drugs concealed within the luggage.

The matter was called to check on the status of the Pre-Trial Conference documents. However, the defence needed more time to review them.

The court has directed both parties to finalise the PTC documents before the next mention.

The matter has been adjourned to 3rd December 2026 for a PTC hearing.
