Rain delays progress at Semo slip bypass, additional maintenance works to continue tonight
Continuous rain has significantly affected progress on the bypass road at the Semo slip site along Queens Highway.

The Fiji Roads Authority says they will continue to maintain alternative access routes via Nadiri and Ciri Road (accessible to light goods vehicles only) and has scheduled additional maintenance works on the detour route tonight to ensure continued accessibility.

FRA is advising drivers to plan their travel accordingly and to expect possible delays.

They say to minimise waiting times and delays, those travelling from Suva to Lautoka, Nadi, Ba, Tavua, and Rakiraki are encouraged to consider using Kings Highway as an alternative route, while the alternative detour routes (Nadiri and Ciri Road) remain as another option.

FRA is urging all drivers to exercise extreme caution when passing through the area and to remain mindful of pedestrians and commuters transferring between vehicles near the slip site.
