17-year-old Jale Raikatalau of Cakau House has claimed gold in the Intermediate Boys 800 metres with a time of 2 minutes and 26 seconds during the Ratu Kadavulevu School interhouse competition.

Raikatalau says he dedicates his success to his grandmother, who recently passed away overseas, and says he truly appreciates the support she gave him throughout the years.

He adds that he will remain patient and continue preparing for the upcoming Tailevu Zone at the end of this month and the Coca-Cola Games.

Raikatalau says success comes through prayer, hard work, and consistency.

He also says that he acknowledges the support and love from his family despite their busy schedules, and he understands the sacrifices they make.

Meanwhile, a large crowd turned out in full support as students, parents, and old scholars created a lively and energetic atmosphere during the Ratu Kadavulevu School inter-house athletics competition currently underway at the HFC Bank Stadium.

The inter-house competition saw strong participation from students across all grades, with athletes giving their best performances as they prepared for the upcoming zone competition and the Coca-Cola Games.
