The Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, is urging teachers who have not yet received their salaries to ensure their contracts are correctly submitted to avoid further delays.
Radrodro says affected teachers must submit signed copies of their contracts confirming their appointments through their respective schools directly to the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Education, with copies also sent to District and Divisional Officers.
He highlighted that many teachers experiencing non-payment had submitted their contracts to HR officers or junior staff, which has contributed to delays in salary processing.
Radrodro says the Ministry is continuing to address the issue and has reminded headquarters staff of their responsibility to ensure teachers are paid on time.
He stressed that it is unacceptable for his office to intervene in cases where existing systems should already be functioning efficiently.
With more than 13,000 teachers and staff across the country, he says all personnel must understand their roles and uphold accountability to support timely salary payments.
He also called on staff to improve their work ethics and work together to strengthen education delivery for students across Fiji.
Teachers with further queries are advised to contact the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Education.
