Policing efforts across the country continue to intensify as they adopt a multifaceted approach to maintaining law and order, with a strong focus on community safety and tackling the illicit drug trade.

The Fiji Police Force says its operations range from boots on the ground patrols and community policing outreach to joint operations and house-to-house visitations, all aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the public.

They say joint taskforce operations with the Republic of Fiji Military Forces are ongoing, while routine police operations continue simultaneously across divisions.

Police is now calling on the public to play an active role in supporting these efforts.

They are urging people to adhere to proper processes when raising concerns, including lodging official complaints or contacting the dedicated hotline.

Police have also cautioned the public against being misled by false narratives circulating on social media, stressing that any genuine concerns should be formally reported so they can be properly investigated.

They highlight that there has been strong public support in efforts to curb the illegal drug trade and associated criminal networks, despite what they describe as ongoing attempts by a small number of individuals to discredit joint operations.

They are encouraging people to continue working in partnership with authorities by sharing information through the 1681 hotline.

Police add that ongoing joint operations will not be derailed by misinformation, reaffirming that collective efforts remain key to reducing harm and disrupting the supply of illicit drugs across the country.
