A pilot on a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv has been arrested after allegedly stabbing another pilot and attempting to crash the plane.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the aircraft plunged about 17,000 feet in less than two minutes before passengers intervened and subdued the attacker.
The flight was diverted to Saudi Arabia, where the captain and first officer were taken to hospital with injuries.
flydubai says all passengers are safe and accounted for.
Two other pilots who were travelling at the back of the plane reportedly came forward to land the aircraft.
Netanyahu says the alleged attacker was arrested and is being questioned by Saudi authorities.
