The Navatu Secondary School rugby dream of owning a proper gym has become a reality after their Under-19 rugby team Captain made a plea for assistance to help the school better prepare for the Vodafone Super Deans.
Minister of Sports Jese Saukuru responded to their plea and handed over $8000 worth of gym and sporting equipment to the school.
Saukuru says when he heard the interview with Navatu Secondary School Under-19 captain Vilimone Kanawabu following their historic Super Deans final, one thing stood out to him was that these young men had the talent, determination and heart, but they did not have a proper training ground or gym to support their development.
Saukuru says to the young people of Navatu and the North that their talent should never be limited by where you come from and their dreams are just as important, and that their hard work deserves to be supported.
