Swire Shipping Fijian Drua captain Temo Mayanavanua says securing an away win is a significant boost for the team, and they aim to carry that momentum into their upcoming clash against the Chiefs.

While speaking to fijivillage Sports following the 33-28 win over the ACT Brumbies, Mayanavanua says his team performed as a cohesive unit and was well aware of the Brumbies’ threats.

He expressed satisfaction with their ability to disrupt the opposition through constant pressure and maintain a strong defensive effort throughout the match.

Meanwhile, ACT Brumbies coach, Stephen Larkham says the Drua delivered an impressive performance, scoring several outstanding tries and maintaining relentless pressure on the ACT Brumbies throughout the full 80 minutes.

He admitted his side struggled to build momentum in the opening half, allowing the Drua to capitalize on basic errors.

He says the Brumbies were unable to withstand the sustained attacking onslaught.

Larkham also noted that the slippery ball made handling difficult, with players needing time to adjust to the conditions.

The Drua take on the Chiefs in Christchurch this Sunday at 4.30pm.
