'King Khan' convicted of unlawful possession of meth
Imran Khan, also known as 'King Khan', has been convicted of unlawful possession of illicit drugs.

Khan was found with 4.1364 grams of methamphetamine in Suva on 7th February 2023.

In his judgement, Magistrate Yogesh Prasad said police officers testified during the trial that they suspected a controlled delivery operation.

Magistrate Prasad said Police Constable Peni gave evidence that K9 officer Zoro's behaviour changed and the dog indicated a water bottle located on the front seat of the vehicle.

During his caution interview, Khan claimed that the drugs had been planted by police officers.

However, Magistrate Prasad rejected that claim, stating that the vehicle keys had been taken away and the K9 unit arrived later in the afternoon.

He ruled that Khan had knowledge and control of the drugs.

The Magistrate also noted that no one else had access to the vehicle.

The sentence hearing will take place next Tuesday.
