Kamikamica inducted as first iTaukei fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand

Government MP and former Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica has become the first indigenous Fijian to be inducted as a fellow of the Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand.

Speaking to fijivillage News at the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants Congress 2026, Kamikamica says there have been other fellows before him; however in terms of indigenous Fijians, it is an honour to be recognised for his contributions to the profession.

Kamikamica says there are many people who have been part of his journey and career and he reflected on those people and what they have done to help him achieve success.

He has also highlighted the importance of decisive leadership and stronger communication by Government.

Kamikamica says the Government should focus more on talking about what has been achieved and what actions have been taken on various matters.

He says he will encourage ministers to communicate more and speak openly about what is being done.

He adds that given where Fiji is in its journey as a country, the importance of good leadership is fundamental.
